The world of Gepida
1993
Our story starts in the middle of this year in Murányi Street… We start from a small 40 sqm shop with only a few bikes. We import full bikes and most of them are stored in the underground garage.
1994-1997
Thanks to our commitment, already 1 year after the start we rent a 20 times larger assembly hall. Our first production line is built and almost immediately we become known as Olimpia in Hungary.
Our small team of only 20 people goes from strength to strength! We will dismantle our 100,000th bicycle in 1997!
1998
One of the most significant stages in our history: we buy the Gepida brand name and enter the international stage at the most prestigious exhibition in Europe.
2000
We are launching our first electric bike with the Sram Sparc 5-speed electric system, and with that, we are finally casting our vote for electric bikes. We are boldly embarking on a new path, which is still unknown in Hungary.
2004
Our bravery will be rewarded! We are strengthening the Gepida name in the market of electric bicycles and our range of bicycle types is expanding. We are able to serve our already 80% foreign customers with better and better bikes. We can already meet Gepida bikes on the roads in 10 other countries except Hungary. Compared to the beginning, the number of our employees is doubling, now 40 of us are working together in one team!
2010-2013
This period is characterized by continuous development and an expanding bicycle market. We introduce our own mobile application and we also develop our own electrical system called GPDS. In 2012 the 1,000,000th bike will roll off our production line.
2016-2017
The Gepida brand fly to the heights, both at home and abroad. We ship almost fully electric bicycles to 30 countries already, our team reaches 100 people. We create our top model, the Asgard FS, which is unique in the market in terms of design. We open the Gepida Factory Store in Budapest, where the entire product range can be viewed.
2019
We are setting another milestone in the history of Gepida: we are launching our online webshop, which is open to our Hungarian private customers in the first round. This year we are already represented on 3 continents in the world.
2021
In a world turned upside down, Gepida is still standing stable! We are launching a major investment, building a new logistics center in Budapest. We are also starting direct sales to private customer in Germany and the Czech Republic. The recognition of Gepida is constantly growing, thanks to the persistent and dedicated work of our team!

Gepida bicycles are produced in Hungary by Hungarian designers and developers. Bicycle production in Hungary has delivered amazing results, to which we have also contributed substantially. Every developed European country treats the issue of cycling as a matter of priority, so we rightly expect to see more Gepida bikes on our remarkably expanding bicycle roads in the near future. Gepida could also be listed among the Hungarikums, i.e. unique Hungarian products as we consider appreciation from our nation the greatest value.

Lifetime warranty for every Gepida bicycle frame
It is important for us to provide you as a Gepida bicycle owner with a fully reliable bike that can be used without any problems for long years to enjoy the marvellous feeling of cycling. Under the Lifetime warranty program, when experiencing any problem with the frame, Gepida agrees to repair or replace – directly or through the distributor – the faulty or damaged frame within the shortest possible deadline.
The high-quality, professional production technology and the expertise of Gepida engineers make it possible for us to provide lifetime warranty for the bicycle frames. Therefore we pay special attention on duration and easy handling when designing the frames.
It is important that you have to register on our website under Bicycle registration to be able to enforce the warranty. After registering your new Gepida bicycle as an owner, the lifetime warranty for the frame will immediately come into effect.
