Which bike to choose?
Check out our short description to see which bike suits your lifestyle the best. If you are not sure which bike to choose, this description will be of help.
City bikes
The bikes in the City category are optimised for urban biking. The frame geometry allows a comfortable, straight posture on the bike.
Each city bike serves mainly our comfort, no extra skills are necessary. The closed derailleur system of Gepida bikes with internal gear hub ensures smooth functioning in the long term, which is much less sensitive to the weather conditions. Gepida city bikes are characterised by excellent equipment and customisable handlebar position. The springy seatpost available above the basic category also supports convenient, smooth biking. We recommend these bikes on your way to work, as a means of transport, for convenient use, for short distances.
Cross bikes
The perfect choice for the enthusiasts of a sportier riding experience. This bike combines the characteristics of sports and trekking bikes, moreover, it can handle easy terrains as well.
We could say that it is the simplified version of trekking bikes, as it is free of all dispensable parts. In contrast with the workhorse character of trekking bikes, Cross bikes are fresh, sporty bikes for adventurous bikers who love to swoosh on asphalt as well. The geometry and the rolling resistance are important aspects. One of its advantages is that it is equally suitable for weekdays on your way to work and at the weekend for light trips as well. The tiny compromise is compensated by the higher speed and the possibility to choose the route more freely.
Folding / Urban bikes
These bikes are super handy as their design makes both their daily transport and storage easier.
We may transport folding bikes even by means of public transport since they do not take up much space and can be carried as hand luggage. Not to mention that they may even find their place at our workplace in the office instead of keeping them on the street.
Junior bikes
It is an extremely important aspect at Gepida to make premium-category bikes for children as well, since poor quality must not discourage them from trying by making their first pedalling attempts unenjoyable.
We should not base our decision – and thus choose poor quality – on having in mind that the child will soon grow out of the bike anyway. It is important that the bike meets the necessary safety requirements. Gepida only makes reliable, perfectly operating bikes. Choosing the right bike for the child’s height helps improve skills, which is essential from the aspect of physical activity and coordination. The bikes are equipped with easy-to-handle coaster and V-brakes for safe stopping; hub dynamos as well as lights are also available to ensure visibility.
MTB
The members of the Mountainbike category are primarily not intended for use as a means of transport.
The engineers at Gepida designed our MTB models to ensure smooth progress on almost all terrains (forest lands, rocky and rough roads). The primary aspect is not comfort but conquering real challenges. On unknown paths with maximum speed. Recommended for sporty use and various distances. It does not contain any additional weight that would hinder sporty pedalling. The tyres are really in their element on terrain in exchange we pay for this with greater rolling resistance on asphalt.
Pedelec bikes
Pedelec bikes are pedal-driven bikes with electric assistance. The extent of assistance is customisable, we can swoosh on the roads with up to 45 km/h speed.
The pedelec range of Gepida is uniquely wide; we can find what suits us best according to different categories, whether for use in the city or on terrain. It can be the perfect choice for businessmen not wishing to get sweaty during pedalling on their way to work; it is suitable for the older generation too, who may need some help now and then, but we would recommend it to those as well who would benefit from the power of the assistance only occasionally, when the last pedalling up the hill would beat the exhausted biker. All in all, you can find the suitable pedelec bike for you in our wide range for all types of needs, whether equipped with a Bosch. (City, MTB/ATB, Trekking, Special)
Road bikes
The bikes we see in this category are designed to be capable of reaching extremely high speeds and covering long distances, and are characterised by excellent geometry as well as small wind resistance.
Our GRAVEL bikes are built on a foundation of racing spirit and rebellion, combining speed and practicality. They are neither trekking, mountain, nor road bikes, yet they contain elements of all three. Lightweight and aerodynamic, they are designed not only for road use but also for light off-road adventures."
Trekking bikes
The Gepida trekking category is designed for those looking for the most versatile bike. The strong frame and high-quality brakes make it possible to load the bike even with heavier bags, which will not have adverse effects on the pedalling experience.
To pedal more effectively, we must adopt a posture completely different from, for example in the case of bikes from the City category; this is facilitated by the lower position of the adjustable handlebars. The saddle position is sportier than for City bikes, but it is not necessary to lean on the handlebars too much, like when riding a road bike.
Whether up or down the hill, on asphalt or rammed earth road, the trekking bikes will be at your service at one hundred percent. The carrier can bear up to 25-kg load, and the comfortable pedalling is facilitated by the springy seatpost and the suspension.
